High-precision and quality mechanical shaft seal made from a combination of 316 stainless steel and graphite, designed for easy installation and maintenance. The mechanical seal is achieved through the perfect junction between the stainless steel ring and the graphite component. The stainless steel ring is secured with headless screws onto the shaft (thus it rotates with it), while the graphite part remains fixed on the shaft seal. This mechanical shaft seal can be directly mounted on a sterntube using a rubber sleeve that is secured with clamps. The standard attachment size for the rubber sleeve on a sterntube is 87 mm, but with reductions, the mechanical seal can also be fitted onto sterntubes of 70 mm or 2½ inch and 3 inch sizes. It can be complemented with a wall mount bronze shaft seal adapter complete with a water-lubricated bearing (see codes 4900635<>4900680).
